Karaoke
CDG discs will play in any CD player but you won't see the words on your
TV screen (you will only hear the backing track). CDG discs will not play
in a DVD or VCD player. You may be able to play them in your computer
depending on the software you have loaded but normally you need to download
special software for the job! This can be found on the internet.
CDG is a cost effective format if you just want the backing track.
If you require
the words to display on a screen you really need a dedicated Karaoke player,
or your computer needs the software to play DVD, VCD or CDG discs. Dedicated
Karaoke players also allow you to utilise the key changer facility on
DVD and VCD discs so you can have the singer on/singer off function which
helps in learning a song.
